Night Fishing Preparation, The Key To Success
by marni todo - Sunday, 4 May 2008, 05:54 PM
Anyone in the world

By Daniel Eggertsen Preparation is the Key To Successful Night Fishing, You Better Have These... Night fishing requires quite a bit more preparation than daytime fishing does. Even if you "think" you know the waters pretty well, you need to take extra precautions when fishing at night. If you are night fishing from a boat, you have even more to think about. Make sure you have enough flotation devices onboard and that they are easily accessible. If someone falls overboard, it is much more difficult to see them at night, so you need to be able to throw a flotation device out to them quickly. Proper lighting on your boat is also essential. Enough flashlights and batteries should be an obvious commodity, but you would be surprised how many times those batteries that you "thought" were new, die off within minutes of the trip. You should have a GPS monitor at all times (good compasses are better than nothing if you can't afford a GPS). However, don't go out and buy a GPS right before your first night-fishing voyage. Buy one in advance and learn how to use it first! Trust me, it is no fun trying to read the manual when it's pitch dark and you're lost. Not only are the tree stumps harder to see at night, so are the shallow waters. It definitely pays to learn the waters well before heading out at night. Before you venture out into the darkness, make sure you let someone know (back onshore) where you are going or are planning to go. If you aren't back home at a specific time you suggest, at least others will know where to start looking for you. It's also a good idea to pack your insect repellant. Night fishing not only brings out the best fish, but also the meanest bugs. It's prime feeding time for many insects, and to them, you look pretty tasty on that open water. Prepare your rods, reels and lures BEFORE you hit the water. There is nothing worse than getting out in the water and realizing you forgot to bring your favorite lure. A little nap during the afternoon before you head out is also a good idea. Of course, if you are catching a lot, I doubt you will be tempted to doze off. And remember, safety always comes first. I am yet to see a fish worth getting seriously injured or killed over. By Jennifer Shircel Ok, so if youre at all like me, you have 1 main disinfectant cleaner, a glass cleaner and a furniture polish! I don't want to have a specific cleaner for every little thing in the house! Now, Ive got a great solution to quickly clean the kitchen countertops, the bathroom sinks and counters and just about everywhere in between! We all either have old cloth diapers we arent using anymore or have old rags just sitting around the house collecting dust so use them! I took my old cloth diapers and cut them into 4 squares. Now, take a container, probably something that is plastic and has a tight fitting cover and fill it with your favorite cleaner/disinfectant and water. Now, toss in your cloths and put the cover on tight. The next time that you need to quick wipe up the kitchen counters or maybe a quick clean-up in the bathroom, grab out a cloth, ring it out good and wipe up your mess. Once youre finished, toss it in the laundry! This is going to save you tons of money and mostly a lot of time having them right at your convenience and saving you the cost of buying all those disposable sanitizing wipes! Take Another Look at Those Wild Surreptitious Weeds
by marni todo - Tuesday, 29 April 2008, 07:09 AM
Anyone in the world

By Joy Cagil I dont do much gardening anymore and our present landscapers here in Florida do not want to tangle with weeds too much, unless we tangle with the landscapers. Yet, I am partial to weeds. Even when I used to garden extensively while we lived on Long Island, I let the dandelions and the purslane grow wild in a few patches. I wasnt trying to stump on anyone else's good gardening sense, but was raising salad for myself. That in itself was one good reason to love weeds. Sauted purslane or dandelion leaves mixed with garlic and dressed in olive oil and vinegar make tasty side dishes. In Florida, as weeds, there are crabgrass or other expendable and unknown greenery (at least unknown to me) that tend to take over and suffocate other costly plants I dare to put in and forget to take care of later, partly because we are rarely home. These weeds have a deep green hue and are resistant to the sub-tropical suns rays. From afar, our yard seems lush to the person who has never seen what crabgrass looks like. So, how can I call a weed a "weed," if it fools, at least, some of the people some of the time? According to the publication "Weed Science" that comes in volumes and supplements, there are more than 600 weeds in Florida and new ones are showing up everyday together with the migration of the masses toward south, their seeds and spores riding on the cars, trains, boats, and luggage. With the fast spread of the northern species down south, we shall need planned parenting for weeds, in other words, limiting weed seeds into an area. Weeds are plants that thrive in disturbed or cultivated areas and in sunlight, shade, or semi-shade. Most weeds are invasive. They establish roots immediately and prosper where other plants do not dare to venture. Still, by plowing, mulching, and constant vigilance, one can control the spread of most weeds in the garden and flower beds. In reality, weeds impart some wisdom through their surprising qualities. Most of what we call weeds are splendid herbs and have medicinal virtues. We may find them bitter but we may learn from them the most. Just like some people. Although there is little research on the medicinal value of common weeds, folk medicine of centuries dictates otherwise. Weeds may have a positive impact other than being used as cures and balms. They may actually improve the soil. Weed Science Society of America (wssa.net) has taken a few steps toward that direction, encouraging an awareness of weeds and their influence on the environment. For example, weeds such as purslane, ragweed, nettles, and pigweed break down the ground all the way to subsoil to bring up minerals to the topsoil. They act as companion crops to garden plants by paving the way for their roots to reach to nutrients that, otherwise, the garden plants wouldn't be able to reach. Another group, like horsetails and sorrels, are proven indicators that the soil has become too acidic. Most weeds can be controlled by introducing biological resources, like certain moths and fungi; however, it was recently proven that weeds borrowed genes from genetically engineered plants to become resistant to insects. Taking the easy way and using toxic materials in huge amounts may control the weeds, but that practice poses a higher risk to the environment. Knowing and recognizing different plant species and weeds could be very helpful to any weekend gardener. Aside from, not having to lean on the herbicides with their poisonous side effects too much, recognizing certain nasty weeds such as poison ivy, sumac and horsenettle and staying away from them would help evade unpleasant skin rashes. If plants and people become weeds, it happens maybe because their timing is off. Probably, they are in the wrong place at the wrong time, and because of that, they lose their point of view and significance. So, they end up forcing themselves on us and in our gardens where they are not wanted. Maybe in time, through biological means, we will be able to curb the appetites of weeds to show up haphazardly and we shall learn to appreciate them for their positive impact, instead of murdering them as soon as we see them. Hot Dating Tips For Men #22/28

By Scott Holland Hot Dating Tip #22: Be slow. Women like a slow build-up. Take your time. If all you are looking for is casual sex and you don't much care whether or not she has a brain or a personality, then stuff about 'shared values' and 'compatibility' will not be of any great interest. But if you are looking for something a bit more serious and long-term, take your time getting to know her before getting into boyfriend-girlfriend behaviour. Women like to be wooed, not jumped on. They like to get to know you and trust you before getting down and dirty. By skilful use of certain NLP-style rapport techniques, you can help her to have that feeling of knowing and trusting you pretty quickly, but you do need to put in the hours developing those skills - like anything worthwhile. Once you have developed a comfortable connection, create some space. Back off. Give her room to move towards you. If she's really interested, she will. Like a magnet. Same goes for sex. Take it slow. Don't be in a hurry to start or to finish. Women take longer to get aroused than men, but once they are up there they can stay hot for way longer than most men can. If you want to have the self-confidence to approach any woman you choose and the self-esteem to brush off the occasional rejection without a second thought, take a few minutes to visit my web site. The Truth About Hosta Virus X
by marni todo - Monday, 21 April 2008, 11:52 AM
Anyone in the world

By Jerry Van Der Kolk Hosta Virus X or HVX as it is known by its acronym is a dangerous, contagious virus that is killing hostas in both North America and Europe. It first started showing up in North America about five years ago when mutated looking plants with strange markings and mottled leaves started growing in nurseries and home gardens. Hosta Virus X was not detected for a long time at first because at first it was thought to be a new sport of hosta. For those of you who are not hosta fiends, a hosta sport is simply a new variety of plant. Some of these infected plants were even named and sold in the U.S. and Britain. The virus also infected the large growing fields of Holland where most of the hostas sold in the world are grown. Examples of new plants that were actually named even though they were just infected are Leopard Frog, Breakdance and Lunacy varieties of hosta. In North America there are two very popular varieties of hosta that are known to be widely infected with this virus. This includes the chartreuse variety Sum and Substance and the yellow variety that can tolerate sun called Gold Standard. Why are people being sold infected hosta plants to this day even though growers and nurseries know that the Hosta Virus X exists? The problem is that the plant will not display any symptoms that it is a carrier of the virus for up to 3 or 4 years. The plant can be a carrier of the virus and still look normal during this time. Symptoms of Hosta Virus X include dark blue or black veins that look like ink bleeding marks on Kleenex. Other symptoms are mottled and discolored leaves. There may be bleached looking patches on green or blue leaves or dark green blotches on yellow leaved hostas. This virus is also very hard to get rid of. It lurks in the sap of the plant affecting the roots, leaves and stems. If you think you have a plant infected with this contagious plant disease then uproot it immediately and throw it into your garbage or even better burn it. Do not throw it onto your compost heap as that is a place where the virus can be recycled back into your garden. As long as you are able to remove every single bit of dead tissue from the ground that belonged to the infected plant you should be okay. Make sure that you wash the tools you used to dig up diseased plants with bleach so you do not infect other areas of the garden as well. Yet another way to prevent Hosta Virus X from spreading is to not buy any plants that are displaying symptoms of the disease from a grocery store, nursery or garden center. Always be sure to buy your hosta plants from a reputable hosta dealer. Many of the commercial growers limit their sources to those who have very high standards of disease and pest control. This along with constant monitoring of their growing areas tends to keep Hosta Virus X limited to those who decide NOT to employ these higher growing standards. Jerry Van Der Kolk has been involved directly with the Horticulture Industry for over 20 years. He now devotes his time to growing hard-to-find hostas for hosta collectors via his popular website http://www.DirectSourceHostas.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jerry_Van_Der_Kolk http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Truth-About-Hosta-Virus-X&id=436491 mortgages for people with bad credit credit report how to debt consolidation home loan best place for credit report

Does Christian Church Need Churches
by marni todo - Sunday, 20 April 2008, 08:47 AM
Anyone in the world

By Glen D. Williams Christian life in the modern world seems to revolve around local church buildings, called churches. These buildings are so central to Western Christianity that almost all worship, praise, fellowship and prayer services take place in them. Almost all evangelistic activity takes place in churches where "seekers" are invited to meetings. In fact, many who attend church services question the faith of those who claim to be Christian and who live a Christian life in all respects except that they don't go to church. What is the truth? Is church attendance a mere practice of religion or is it necessary to find peace with God? Big Church Answer: Denominations and big established churches (say, larger than the average house would hold) will all tell you church is necessary to have the Christian fellowship encouraged in the Bible. In their support, many people have attended church services to find the hope and salvation that Jesus offers. That certainly was my experience. At the age of 13, I had committed a sin for which my father's punishment wasn't enough. One afternoon, it "occurred" to me to visit the local church that evening when the cars arrived. It "happened" to be the first meeting of a week-long evangelistic revival. I went to the alter, accepted Christ and began a journey that eventually led me into the ministry. Let me tell you, for me, the big church changed my life. So I don't find it surprising to hear the big church leaders answer the question by saying, "Yes, churches are absolutely necessary for Christian life." Though I'm not surprised by the answer, it may be a little self-serving. But big churches are joined by a relatively new faction in Christianity, the house church movement. House Church Answer: Members of the house church movement are commonly understood to believe that big churches were not around for the first 350 years of Christianity, that you don't need a denomination, professional speaker or worship leader to honor God, that, in the early Church, spiritual gifts were exercised as everyone spoke and sang and prayed and ate together in the Holy Spirit in each other's home. All this is true, as clearly documented in the New Testament. I've experienced home church and can tell you some of my closest Christian relationships came from home fellowships of one kind or another. My preferred style of Christian worship, in fact, is in small, intimate groups where, if someone says their son is sick, you can see his face when you pray for him. If you were to ask me, I'd tell you this small, intimate fellowship is absolutely necessary for Christian life and spiritual growth. Of course, this is a little self-serving because I'm a leader in one of those house church movements. Answer From The Bible: Churches are mentioned numerous times in the Bible so maybe that's where we can turn for the authoritative answer to the question. You're probably saying, "...ya think?" The writer of Hebrews tells us to not neglect gathering together as some are in the habit of doing. Acts records that the church met regularly in homes to fellowship, study, pray and, my favorite, eat together. Sometimes Christians rented larger rooms or halls to accommodate larger meetings. Paul writes to the Corinthian churches that everyone has a hymn, teaching, revelation, tongue or interpretation that must be done but done in an orderly way. No matter where or when you "go to church" this is what the Bible says happens there. If these things aren't happening you'd have to wonder if you've gone to church or to some other place. After 20 years of Bible study, I have yet to find the Scripture that says where is THE place of worship. I hear people in big churches say "this is the place" and people in homes saying "this is the place." It reminds me of the question the Samaritan woman asked Jesus...'where is the right place to worship, Jerusalem or Samaria?' Jesus answered, "...the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth..." The place to "go to church" is in our spirits, loving our God and loving our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ...all believers...everywhere. So the Bible answers our question with a resounding, 'Yes! We need churches to go to church...churches in caves, cathedrals, fields, temples, homes and commercial buildings...wherever believers can worship in spirit and in truth.' Comment On This Article. Migraine - Natural Therapies To Treat It

By Harry B Many people have found that they are not alone in the world in this respect that they suffer from either a migraine or chronic headache. A large proportion of the population across the globe suffers from such problems and a high percentage seems to be women. It seems that depression and chronic pain live side by side and you cant seem to have one without the other. Many people who have been suffering with such symptoms are now looking at alternatives to the usual over the counter remedies being offered by their pharmacists and are turning to herbal therapy instead. Essential oils and aromatherapy are now helping to relieve some of the pain and provide comfort to migraine sufferers. Lavender is one of the herbal fragrances whose particular properties are used to help naturally sooth ones body and mind. It does help your muscles to relax which is a major cause of migraine pain. It also helps to relieve any stiff that you have in your joints and relieve in chronic pain that you may be suffering. It has an antiseptic quality which even helps to repel insects. It is one of two essential oils that may directly applied to the skin without having to be diluted and therefore by simply applying a few drops may help you to relax the muscles and any emotional tension you may feel which trigger the on set of a migraine attack. Using a lavender eye pillow helps you to relax and the soothing aromatherapy qualities help to promote a more relaxed and restorative sleep as well.

The Morning After the Wedding Night
by marni todo - Monday, 14 April 2008, 07:21 PM
Anyone in the world

By Vlady Peters Ah! Its the wedding night. Youve cut the cake, drank the toast, danced the dance, and now, at last you are completely alone. Unlike the bride and groom of the past. In those days the wedding night was deemed to be very much a part of the wedding day celebration. In some cases the couple would be literally placed in the bed by their friends. In others, while the two were seemingly alone, the beating of instruments or domestic utensils, together with encouraging advice bellowed at full blast outside their window, never let them forget their wedding guests presence. The necessity for all this hullabaloo was explained as keeping bad luck away from all that happiness that the couple had acquired in finding each other. But everyone knew it was all meant to aggravate and frustrate the newly married couple. It has been suggested that Henry V111 was never quite as potent on his honeymoon as he could have been because of the lack of privacy that went hand in hand with being a ruler. Give him an anonymous inn and a comely wench, and he was twice the man, creating little Henrys with no trouble at all. The romantic lover understood that the fortitude of the bride in the face of the previous nights outrage, deserved some consideration. Waking up in the morning after a good night, the husband would hand to the object of his passion, something that would be a reminder of the experience for the rest of their life. It could be an extravagant piece of jewellery perhaps a family heirloom worth a small fortune. Or it might be a deed to a prized piece of real estate. In any case, the generosity of a husband at such a time was legendary and not often repeated there after. The less bashful bride would have thought deeply about it long before the wedding day, and was not beyond asking for a specific gift. At such a time it was always, Whatever your heart desires is yours, my dear. He might have added, as some of them did, Ask wisely. Weve all seen those operas or read those myths and fairy tales where the bride would ask for a favour that eventually, and sometimes immediately, turn her life into a disaster. But if the headstrong bride didnt know her own best interest, it was hardly the fault of her lord and master, be he a Bluebeard or a husband with a past. Democracy and income tax has pretty well put a stop to these extravagant, and sometimes deadly gestures. Though, for all we know, perhaps the very rich and famous are still into tossing a chateaux or a directorship at their brides. But for the rest, to commemorate that first night as they should, all they need is a little bit of creativity. How to Maximize Space Using Storage Shelving
by marni todo - Friday, 11 April 2008, 12:00 PM
Anyone in the world

By Lee Dobbins Storage shelving provides you with the most efficient method of maximizing any storage space that you have. There are many storage shelving systems available where single shelves are supported by fixed brackets on fully adjustable units. The storage shelving can be designed to blend in with the style, character or shape of a room or it may even act as a decorative feature. But when using any form of shelving it is important that the materials it is made from are strong enough to bear any loads that are put on them. Shelves come in a variety of different materials from wood (of different thicknesses and finishes) to glass or metal ones. However the simplest storage shelving around is that on a non adjustable track system. When you have decided what type of shelving support system you are going to need and have decided on the shelving material you are going to use you will now need to either install it yourself or get a professional company to do it for you. However if you are putting up the shelving system yourself make sure that you secure the unit securely to the wall and take care when hanging the shelves and make sure that they are perfectly level. It is important that you use the correct hardware that suits the structure of your propertys walls; there are a large range of both metal and plastic anchors that you can use as well as bolts with spring clips that are great for securing screws or brackets to cavity walls. If you happen to be mounting a lightweight shelf on a cavity wall then use anchors made of plastic or metal (most of these have wings which expand against the wall within the cavity). It is vital that you choose the right size bit for your drill as recommended by the manufacturer of the anchors that you are using. Now mark the place where you want to drill and drill the holes. Then insert the anchor and then drive home the screw to secure the anchor in place (as the screw turns the wings on the anchor expand). If you are looking for a more flexible type of storage shelving then the best one is known as a track system and is easy to install and great for storing objects of different sizes (such as books). So when looking for a good storage shelving system all you need do is either visit your local DIY store or carry out a search of the internet and you will soon see the styles that are now available. Many of which are also easy to install yourself. Lee Dobbins write for Moving and More where you can get tips on moving and learn more about moving and household storage. An Examination of Embroidery Machines
by marni todo - Wednesday, 9 April 2008, 06:48 AM
Anyone in the world

By Peter Vermeeren Embroidery machines provide an excellent way for a business to achieve the fast and efficient production of embroidered goods. No human hand can match the speed of the computerized embroidery machines. For example, the Melco machine allows the user to complete 1500 stitches in one minute. The embroidery machines offer similar speed from Tajima and Barudon. The purchase of embroidery machines calls for an examination of the equipment and services that are included in the purchase package. Number one on the list of necessary additions to all embroidery machines is design software. The more extensive the software that comes with any group of embroidery machines the greater the variety of the designs that can be created. Greater variety in designs helps the business owner to please a larger number of customers. The purchase of embroidery machines should also be preceded by an inquiry into the available process support. In other words, will the machine maker have someone close at hand, someone who can answer any questions that might arise as business owners use the embroidery machines? Usually the use of embroidery machines needs the preparation that comes with customer training. Hence, plans for that training should be part of the machine purchase. Of course, the business owner does not necessarily have to purchase an embroidery machine. Such machines can also be leased. Many suppliers of embroidery machines agree to either sell or lease the equipment. This flexibility is a definite plus, and it would be another reason for choosing one particular supplier. Finally the business owner must look ahead to the day when he or she has many functioning embroidery machines. What happens if one of those machines suddenly ceases to function properly? Can it be quickly and easily repaired? Does the supplier offer any method for a temporary replacement of the broken machine? If a supplier cannot promise a yes answer to those questions, then that supplier lacks the necessary network of service agencies. The businessperson who wants to buy embroidery machines will want to avoid a supplier with a poor network of service agencies. He or she will seek a supplier who can guarantee a complete package design software, process support, customer training and ready access to customer service. The availability of a leasing program would also be a definite plus. When a supplier offers all that, then the businessperson has found a good source of embroidery machines. The businessperson who has a good source of embroidery machines can then proceed to plan for the production of a variety of different embroidered goods. He or she will be in a position to plan for the marketing of those goods. Once business owner can count on the support of the machine maker, then he or she should have plenty of time for studying how to advertise and market the product of the embroidery machines. He or she will have started down the road to success. That business owner will have demonstrated the moneymaking potential of embroidery machines.
